In the current climate customers are looking for competitive deals when shopping as well as brands that they trust. The one category that continues to perform well is confectionery. With this in mind I plan my store layout using information from Londis and the NFRN so that my impulse confectionery is in high footfall areas.
My mints business is a good example of this – I have a Mints & Gums fixture at the till points but, I also make use of secondary siting with tic tac by using the tic tac tree display stand. As this unit has a small footprint it helps me to maximise space on my counter which, is at a premium. Using the free display unit has helped my sales grow by 150%.
